Overview
Itsyhome is designed with privacy as a core principle. The app operates entirely on your device and does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on external servers. Your smart home data stays on your Mac.
Data we access
Itsyhome accesses the following data through Apple's HomeKit framework:
- Home and room names
- Device names and states (e.g., light brightness, thermostat temperature, lock status)
- Scene names and configurations
This data is used solely to display your devices in the menu bar and allow you to control them. It is never transmitted outside your device.
Data we store
Itsyhome stores your preferences locally on your Mac using the standard macOS preferences system:
- Launch at login preference
- Favourite devices and scenes
- Hidden devices, rooms, and scenes
- Display preferences
These preferences are stored only on your device and are never synced or uploaded anywhere.
Data we do not collect
Itsyhome does not collect, store, or transmit:
- Personal information (name, email, etc.)
- Usage analytics or telemetry
- Crash reports
- Device identifiers
- Location data
- Any data to third-party services
Network communication
Itsyhome does not make any network requests for its core functionality. The app communicates only with your local HomeKit setup through Apple's secure HomeKit framework. The only external URLs the app can open are links to our website and GitHub repository, which require explicit user action and open in your default browser.
Third-party services
Itsyhome does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. The app uses only native Apple frameworks.
Open source
Itsyhome is open source software. You can review the complete source code on GitHub to verify our privacy practices.
